Next time you are in the city (Melbourne), check out the Burnley campus of the University of Melbourne where Michèle (and Rod) worked for many years. There you will find a new set of magnificent wrought iron gates at the entry of the former orchard area of the Gardens – and they were recently ‘opened’ in honour of Michèle.
Recently, Rod had a film accepted to play at the St Kilda Short Film Festival. The film ,"A Briagolong Character - Greg Dunsmuir" was well received by the 250+ audience at the fabulous Astor Theatre. It is an 8+ minute vignette of the life of a local Briagolong fellow - muso, mountain cattleman and story teller.
As a bonus, the film was ear-marked, along with 14 other films, to travel around Victoria as a part of the St Kilda Travelling Festival and visit 9 regional centres - Nhill, Camperdown, Mildura, Charlton, Mallacoota, Mirboo North, Cohuna, Eaglehawk and Queenscliffe, as well as the Nova Cinema in Carlton. A nice achievement!
